VP Business Development - Middle East & Africa

For our new to open Dubai Office under a Joint Venture with Saudi based THIS Group, EclipseHotels is looking for a VP Business Development:

We are seeking a VP Business Development with experience developing and executing leads for Hotel Management appointments.

The successful candidate will not be afraid to roll up his/her sleeves and step in to help get the job done where necessary.

The VP will:

• Report directly to both - the Area CEO and the Group CEO
• Ensure appropriate and effective focus on these objectives on a day-to-day basis, while contributing to the strategic development of the group.
• Be fully accountable for the people, product and performance of the development and the area.
• Utilize innovation to achieve long and short term strategic objectives.
• Provide inspirational leadership by motivating and developing staff to contribute towards the overall success of the business.

• Make certain that the core values of the company on which all hotels and staff are focused are visible in all aspects of the business.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will be an innovative, dynamic individual with a strong track record of using ingenuity and self initiative

Furthermore he/she will possess:

GENERAL MANAGER LEVEL EXPERIENCE IN UPSCALE/BOUTIQUE PROPERTIES REQUIRED.

• 5+ years of experience, the most recent 2+ years having been in the top role at an upscale property.
• Multi-unit experience preferred.
• Strong experience in all areas of hotel operations.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence and self-direction.
• Optimal leadership and personality characteristics including natural charisma, a boundary less attitude, high energy, a bias towards action and urgency, and confidence without being ego-driven.
• Strong financial management skills (including P&L, planning and budgeting) and proven experience identifying opportunities for increased profitability and efficiency.
• Middle East experience is preferred, however not necessary for the right candidate
• Fluency in English, basic knowledge of Arabic a plus but not required
• Solid experience in brand strategy and excellent networking skills and contacts.
